Rules for Submission

What’s it about?

“My NHL Team My Passion” is a book to explore the relationship that European based ice hockey fans have with ‘their’ team. It is a book about the thoughts, feelings and emotions that fans have and the passion they feel for their team.  We would like contributions from fans of all 30 current teams to truly demonstrate the passion, and reach, of ice hockey in Europe. 

How will you do that?

Each week via the website, Facebook page, Google+ page and Twitter feed, a “question” will be posted and fans are invited to email a contribution towards the book. The book will capture the thoughts of every fan who wants to contribute and tell their ‘story’.   Everyone whose contribution is accepted will have their name printed in it and will have their passion for their team recognised and reflected – for all time!

Who can contribute?

We want contributions from fans of any NHL team who lives in Europe now, or did do at the time they had the experience they're contributing.  It's easy to contribute - just email it to mntmp2012@gmail.com.  You will need to put the question in the subject line, and tell us who you are, where you live and who's your team!

When will it be published?

We are currently looking at a September 2012 publishing date, but that is subject to confirmation at the moment. We are also planning on producing an electronic version for Kindle and other such book readers. More details to follow later.

Will I get paid?

You won't be paid for your contribution!  The glory is in seeing your story and name in print.  Please also bear in mind that we may use your contribution when promoting the book.  Copyright will transfer to us when your entry is accepted and we reserve the right to use your email address to keep you informed. Please let us know if you do not give us permission to do that.

Will my submission definitely be in the book?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that. However, we will try and ensure as many of you make the book as we can!

Can I say what I like?

Bear in mind that we want to include your contribution in the published book.  We won't be able to do that if there's a risk of you / us being sued because of what you've written!  For that reason, we reserve the right to leave out entries and / or amend them if necessary.  We'll only do that as a last resort though.

Can I send a photo in?

Yes, you can send a photo/photos in with your submission. However, they need to be your own photograph and not contravene any copyright. Also, you are agreeing that we can use the photographs and any copyright transfers to us.
